Bermuda: A Cheap Escape from the East Coast of the U.S.
In the past, Bermuda was the destination other than Niagara Falls where honeymooners headed for their honeymoons. We don’t hear too much about Bermuda anymore, but did you know it is a quick plane ride from the Eastern Coast of the U.S.
Of course the further south you live the cheaper the fare, but no matter where you live on the coast Bermuda is still a cheap travel and an affordable vacation for you to take when you are craving sun, sand and exotic drinks with umbrellas.
Watch the Prices in Bermuda
Just because it is a hop, skip and jump from many departure points, not everything in Bermuda is cheap. Shoppers will find more than fair prices on handbags and clothing. Hotel prices can go for more than $200 per night, but a sweet little place to try is the Salt Kettle House. You will find the proprietor runs an informal establishment and is more than happy to go over brochures and maps with you. Restaurants can be quite expensive too so you are well advised to buy a guide book that features information about Bermuda. You can certainly find eateries and accommodations to fit your budget if you take the time to search for them.
Getting Around Bermuda
Forget renting a car or a scooter. You have two legs to get you around and if it is too far for you to walk you can make use of Bermuda’s public transportation system. It may not be elegant or even all that comfortable but it will give you a chance to observe the citizens of Bermuda in their home environment and see much of Bermuda you may have missed had you chosen another mode of transportation.
What to Do?
With Bermuda’s beautiful pink sands set along the shore, beaching it is an activity in which you can participate everyday for free. The only money you may need is for a few of Bermuda’s famous drink, the Dark ‘n Stormy. Made with ginger beer, dark rum and garnished with a twist of lime, one taste will have you hooked. You may even find yourself heading to Bermuda just for another sip!
